Creative Facilitation: Approaches, Values and Practice

Discover how to create engaging, inclusive experiences that encourage participation, creativity, and connection.

Through interactive group activities, discussion and practical exercises, this training explores the approaches, behaviours, and values that sit at the heart of successful facilitation. Participants will develop an understanding of how facilitators think and work, and how facilitation differs from teaching, training, and presenting.

The session also examines the principles of people-centred practice, helping you build the confidence to support groups in a way that empowers participants, encourages collaboration, and values diverse perspectives.

During the training, you will:

  • Explore the mindset, approaches, and behaviours of effective facilitators

  • Understand the key differences between facilitation, teaching, training, and presenting

  • Learn how to create safe, inclusive, and participatory environments

  • Develop techniques for encouraging engagement, discussion, and collaboration

  • Build confidence in guiding groups while allowing participants to shape the learning experience

  • Take part in practical activities and reflective discussions
